When most people think of synchronized swimming they picture elaborate sequined costumes, graceful water ballerinas and Esther Williams movies. Rarely does this sport conjure images of hard-working athletes, intensive training and Olympic dreams. From Bingo fundraisers to bronze medal wins, this film follows the U.S. Olympic squad members as they attempt to balance their rigorous training schedules with their personal lives, while one teammate struggles to overcome a near fatal car accident. SYNC OR SWIM examines the sacrifices that must be made on the road to becoming an Olympian in this first-ever behind-the-scenes documentary about the making of the U.S. Olympic Synchronized Swimming Team.
